About Hand In Hand Shandong Restaurant

The dim lighting and understated décor at Hand In Hand Shandong Restaurant set a quietly inviting atmosphere that complements the hearty flavors found within its dishes. With an array of traditional recipes that speak to its Shandong roots, the menu features delicate balances between tangy, savory, and umami notes. The hand-pulled noodles and the signature vinegar-infused pork stand out, though some patrons might find certain spice levels uneven across plates. The photos readily available online capture the rustic appeal of these dishes, offering a glimpse into what one might expect visually before visiting.

Observations from various reviews often highlight the attentive yet unobtrusive service, which contributes positively to the overall dining experience. While the seating arrangement along the bustling riverside adds a vibrant backdrop, service efficiency occasionally ebbs during peak hours. The value aligns fairly well with the quality served, especially given the central locale and the authenticity preserved in every bite. Conversations at neighboring tables frequently revolve around the rich flavors and how the restaurant’s menu successfully introduces less common Shandong specialties to curious food enthusiasts.

Occasionally, the balance between classic and contemporary takes on traditional dishes feels slightly tentative, suggesting a kitchen cautious about diverging too far from its culinary heritage. Yet, this same careful approach is precisely what reassures diners looking for genuine tastes of northern Chinese cuisine. As a dining spot, Hand In Hand Shandong Restaurant presents an experience that merges atmosphere, service quirks, and food quality in a way that satisfies a range of expectations, though it may not fully capture those seeking bold innovation or a seamless flow during busier evenings.

Food is tasty Their waiters and waitresses service are very good. Private room with an attached bathroom, cold air-conditioning, and a beautiful night view from the outdoor balcony.

Great service—friendly, quick with refills, and they helped wrap the first Peking duck. Food was legit: crispy duck, tender sliced beef, smoky skewers, and a garlic-vermicelli lobster that stole the show. Riverside views were the cherry on top (we even caught fireworks). The must-order is a lobster! Book a riverside view.

This place offers authentic Chinese food. The food quality is really good. I especially love the eggplant french bean and the stir fried pork with green chilli. The place is big enough with many tables and also provides private dining rooms. However, having visited here several times, I think the service level still requires a lot of improvements. Food takes quite long to prepare. Hope they improve on these.

When it comes to the food, I’d place it solidly in the 3 to 3.5 star range—a bit above average. The flavors were okay, not bad at all, but nothing that really blew me away. The pricing is reasonable, so you do get a fair deal. Service-wise, I was quite satisfied. The staff were attentive, maybe even a little too quick to clear the table, but overall they kept things neat and clean. For a Chinese restaurant, the hygiene standards felt above average, which is a nice bonus. In summary: good service, acceptable food, and fair prices. It’s not a standout destination, but it’s definitely an option if you’re in the area.

I took my parents here for dinner and we all enjoyed the food and the environment. We ordered Beijing duck, the tangerine chicken , beef puff and vege. The dishes were delicious. The service of the staff is also attentive. A good place to fill the stomach after a walk in boat quay.

We love hand in hand! It’s a staple in our Singapore restaurant scene. Highly recommend the eggplant! Yuri is incredible and always very helpful and attentive. Buzzing scene on boat quay with great people watching too.

The Xiao long bao here is good as the skin is thin, the Peking duck skin was nice but the meat was dry. The other version of the duck was being fried was delicious and I really liked how the seasoning tasted with it.
